Bald Eagles are true symbols of strength;
their seven feet wing spans gliding on thermal updrafts. Suddenly with a cock
of the head, their prey is sighted and down they come pouncing on some unsuspecting
creature be it a fish or some rodent spotted from hundreds of feet up in the
air. Feet as large as some human hands terminating in deadly talons, carry
their prey to eaglets located high on a rocky ledge. A nest comprised of large
sticks interwoven to form a hollowed out platform sometimes in excess of six
feet in diameter.
Wings shield the young eaglets from harm. The Mother rips
flesh from the carcass into edible morsels. Eventually the young will feed
themselves but for now they observe and learn.
If we observe long enough sometimes we learn, if not we
pay until we do or we cease to exist.
