I have always loved the largest member of
the rodent family. The sad thing is the fur on his back tends to be his worst
enemy. We also tend to forget that the damns he builds actually create habitats
for other creatures. Apart from my personal feelings on beavers there was
another reason that made me create “Coat of Harms” and that was
my pride for the country in which I live. Beavers are known around the world
as one of the symbols of Canada they are on our currency the Canadian 5 cent
piece features a beaver.
If you look at the area around the beaver there are numerous
maple leaves another Canadian symbol. Beavers do not particularly like hardwoods
like maple they prefer aspens and willows soft wood trees. His head is held
high as I would hope my fellow Canadians would hold their heads showing a
pride in their country.
