I've often said that my daughter, Alyson Skye, is my little sunshine. Sunflowers seemed to be the most appropriate symbol of the love I have for my daughter and the brightness she draws to my life. Skye loves to dance. In painting this piece I had hoped to capture that same rhythm in these fabulous flowers. My sunshine Skye brings a smile to almost everyone she meets, I only hope that my painting can approach the joy my daughter brings to me.

  I find great satisfaction painting and drawing subjects that are right on my doorstep. Reasons for this are numerous but my main reason is that people are so busy getting from point “ A ”to point “B” that they often miss everything between.These magnificent specimens are just one example of beauty taken for granted. We should all be thankful for the very talented East York parks department employees and others of their profession who create these living masterpieces, “What a wonderful world”
