Presently the Brown family occupies the house at 541/2 St. Patrick Street. Originally built in 1897 the Valko family, which had emigrated from Europe moved into the premises in 1944. Mr. Brown's wife Emily Valko lived in the house until her father passed away in 1974 Emily's mother passed in 1983 and Emily returned to her childhood home at that time with her husband Mr. Brown. I found the house very intriguing and was approached by Mr. Brown to paint the building a commission, which I happily accepted especially with the history that goes along with the premises.
